We Are Recruiting

Teachers at the American Language Center are dedicated and collegial professionals, with their students as their first interest.  They are also knowledgeable about current teaching methodologies and dedicated to their own professional development.  Together with ALC staff, they are committed to the mission of the school and use a variety of strategies to meet their objectives.  All teachers at the ALC possess at least a Bachelor’s degree and are certified in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL/TESOL), preferably a face-to-face (not online) certification course of at least 120 contact hours, including a practice teaching component and reflective feedback. Full-time teachers at ALC usually have 18-22 contact hours per week during our main terms.  Work is mainly English teaching in the classroom, but may include facilitating activities, serving as a program coordinator, or assisting with other administration projects.  Most teaching takes place on weekday afternoons, evenings and on weekends.  Teachers new to Morocco are asked to arrive in advance of the term with time to find housing and participate in orientation and training.  All new teachers are required to attend the orientation program prior to their first term of teaching. Please note that by Moroccan law we are unable to employ teachers who are 60 years or above in age.

ALC Casablanca offers a great package for new teachers with competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits, which make the ALC an appealing option for people looking to live comfortably while teaching abroad. Full-time salaries offered by the ALC Casablanca allow teachers to live comfortably in Casablanca. Salaries are in Moroccan dirhams, but foreign nationals may send up to 100% of their earnings to a foreign bank account in their name, upon receipt of their residency permit (actual terms are determined by each bank). In addition to the reasonable salary, all teachers are offered
medical insurance and covers 80% of most medical and certain dental expenses.
Other benefits include vacation pay, return flight from destination
of origin of hire, and settling in assistance.
